What if I have a background check through my school or district?

Educators and staff members with a current background check through their school or district may be eligible for our Background Check Waiver.*

Schools and districts in the United States may opt to submit a Background Check Waiver for their Team Managers with an existing background check.

  1. Download the Background Check Waiver from the background check page on the DI website.
  2. Complete the Background Check Waiver form and add the eligible Team Managers to the list.
    1. Please ensure that you list the email address each team manager uses for their DI account.
    2. All checkboxes must be checked for each Team Manager in order for DI to accept the waiver and clear them in our system.
  3. Completed forms may be emailed to askdi@dihq.org or faxed to 856-881-3596 for processing.
  4. We try to process waivers as soon as possible, but please allow 5-10 days for your Team Managers to be marked eligible in our system. Waivers are processed in the order in which they are received.

*California schools and districts are not eligible to use our Background Check Waiver.  Learn more about options for California in this article.
